AutoStairs Webinar – 6th September 2024
August 19, 2024Introduced via our Smart Webinar on Friday 6th December, the latest releases for the Cargo and Stacker modules of iTS PlanDesk are now live.
With iTS PlanDesk, you can optimize the handling, storage and delivery of your precast elements based on your customer and their project requirements.
Essential for the effective organization of precast yard, stacking and logistics, PlanDesk modules are designed to be used by Production Planners, Logistics & Transport, and Operations Managers.
Efficient transport planning, from floors to wall panels and more!
The new iTS module for planning cargo loads is available for all precast elements, including floors, walls panels, columns and beams. Previously, this had only been available for floors, and was based in AutoCAD.
This also meant restrictions to the number of users able to work on the same cargo, but in the latest modules, multiple users are able to work in the same project, with changes clearly displayed to avoid any duplication or crossed wires.
The new module can be found in a user-friendly web environment, making access easier than ever before. Loads can be made up of different elements, and can even include non-production items such as trimmers and block pack, offering a more complete solution.
Flexible, customizable, automated
Once the design aspect of the project is done and approved, loads can be changed right up to the last minute, offering complete flexibility to make changes in the yard or even on-site in PlanDesk Project Manager.
Colour coded production statuses and other information such as QC, design details and fabrication drawings, are easily accessible by clicking on any element in the 3D model.
Multiple orders can be selected for Immediate calculation of the number of cargoes required. By customising your typical transport options and using preset stacking rules, automatic calculations can be made to save time.
A simple click and drag function allows the user to select elements for each cargo based on the delivery and installation sequence.
These elements are then allocated to cargoes based on preset rules mentioned above, including trailer type; weight distribution; maximum element length and differential with elements underneath; maximum length, height and width of stacks; split stacks; position of loads, by element type and stacking mode – e.g. vertically in a rack or ‘A’ frame for wall panels.
Where automatic rules cannot be applied, the element is highlighted to show the user that manual intervention is required. He or she can easily split stacks and adjust stacking order manually.
Built in safety features help the user to avoid errors, and colour coding gives an instant visual reference to display cargoes that have already been planned, versus those yet to be completed.
Documentation at the click of a button
With the latest updates, it’s now easy to see the entire layout by planned or completed cargoes, including a print to PDF option in case you wish to show it to colleagues or customers. This can include legends to display the desired information.
PDF reports available include cargo lists, overviews and stack lists, and these documents are saved to the project, so they are easily accessible and visible to all stakeholders, with the possibility to quickly attach them and send via email directly from PlanDesk.
Further updates to come…
As is the iTheses mission, we are continually updating and developing our software to fit customer requirements, with upcoming new features to include:
- Proof of stacking/loading, with photos and signatures uploaded to Cargo Planner.
- Additional combinations and interfacing between QC and YardPlanner.
